Type of contract: Full-time, permanent. Starting ASAP.
Reports to: RDMR’s Director.
Location: Hybrid mix of homeworking and time (min. 3 days a week) at the RDMR office (London Victoria).
Hours: 35hrs p/w (Mon-Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, incl. unpaid lunch break). The Press & Digital Assistant will also be expected to work additional hours, as and when operationally required, and these additional hours of work will generally be reclaimed as time off in lieu.
Holiday entitlement: 25 days per annum

Job Description
Aims of the job
To work as the Press & Digital Assistant for RDMR, providing comprehensive support to the team on all matters of press, media and digital work across RDMR’s client base.
Key Responsibilities
- To act as the main point of contact for media enquiries, via phone and email.
- Manage the gathering, distribution, filing and final collation of press cuttings for all clients.
- Help collate information and contribute to press releases.
- Manage and maintain RDMR’s media database.
- Carry out press mail outs, telephone ring-rounds and e-mail distributions of press information and pictures.
- Assist across the RDMR team with day-to-day tasks, as required.
- To book travel and organise schedules for journalist press trips and RDMR staff.
- Attend and assist at RDMR events and concerts (usually in the evening) which will include manning the press desk where appropriate.
- Work with the Digital Content Officer on RDMR’s social activities, with specific tasks to include monthly concert listings and bi-weekly round-ups.
- To support RDMR’s Digital Content Officer with ad hoc social and digital tasks, and acting as their deputy when required.
- To assist on client’s social media and online profiles and pages where necessary.
Person Specification
Required knowledge and experience
- A good knowledge of western classical music and an enthusiasm for live performance.
- The ability to organise and prioritise a heavy workload.
- The role requires someone with a high level of resilience, being able to cope with potentially stressful situations and think on their feet.
- The ability to work independently and take appropriate action in dealing with enquiries, but not hesitate to consult others when in doubt.
- An interest in social and digital media.
- A keen interest and ability in writing copy would be advantageous. Accurate spelling and grammar with great attention to detail is essential.
- The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels – by phone, in person or by email.
- Able to cope under pressure and be happy to work on a wide variety of tasks within deadlines.
- Fast, responsive and organised, able to juggle multiple demands and deadlines.
- Ability to work creatively and with a good appreciation for design in communications.
- This role will suit someone who enjoys dealing with a high level of daily administrative tasks alongside ad hoc projects.
