First scholarship winners of the Miloš Karadaglić Foundation selected
The Miloš Karadaglić Foundation is excited to announce its first ever scholarship winners together with partners Adriatic Marinas Porto Montenegro and One Montenegro. The first recipients are Kosta Popović (cello), Petra Radulović (soprano), Aleksandra Prelević Palladino (audio-visual project) and Rastko Radulović (illustrator and painter).
The Miloš Karadaglić Foundation was founded in 2023 with the aim of contributing to the development of cultural and artistic creativity in Montenegro and the wider Balkan region and has awarded two scholarships in the field of musical education and one for an audio-visual project. The two scholarships for music education include financial support of €10,000 each, while the scholarship for an audio-visual project covers the costs of audio-visual production at the Synchro 360 studio in Porto Montenegro in excess of up to 100 hours of music studio or 50 hours of video studio time. In addition to financial support, during the project's duration, scholarship recipients will have access to mentoring support from the Foundation and its Advisory Board.
Scholarship winners in the cycle for 2023/2024 are:
Kosta Popović, cellist and first-year master’s student at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama studying with Professor Louise Hopkin.
Petra Radulović, soprano and first-year master’s student at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna studying with Helena Malkovska and Hartmut Keil.
Aleksandra Prelević Palladino, stage name Dolce Hera, music author and the first professional female drummer from Montenegro.
Rastko Radulović an illustrator and painter from Podgorica, winner of one of the scholarships of the Miloš Karadaglić Foundation, which is awarded to gifted individuals who have developmental challenges or belong to vulnerable categories of society.
Milos Karadaglić commented, “This is a great day for us as a Foundation and a confirmation of the significant artistic potential that exists in Montenegro. We received a large number of high-quality applications, and the decision of the jury consisting of: Timothy Jones, director of studies at the Royal Academy of Music (president of the jury), Katherine Enticott, director of the Enticott Music Management agency and Miloš Karadaglić, guitarist and president of the Foundation, was not easy. We are additionally motivated to continue our mission and to give support and a chance to as many artists from Montenegro and the region as possible, because the quality that exists is unquestionable and deserves its place on the international art scene.”
Porto Montenegro‘s Managing Director, David Margason, expressed pride in their partnership with the Foundation, stating, “We are extremely proud that we are partners of the Foundation and that we will give the opportunity for the selected talents to develop their art through the use of our new globally engaged SYNCHRO audio and visual studios and production teams and to present themselves during our Rubix 2024 Festival of Theatre-Music-Art-Technology, here at Porto Montenegro this summer. This underscores Porto Montenegro‘s commitment to supporting the arts and the development of the creative industries in Montenegro and to providing a platform for emerging talents to build their artistic careers and showcase their skills internationally.”

The first solo exhibition of Rastko Radulović, opened in Kuslev's house last night in Podgorica. The show will be open until 11 April and encompasses 20 pieces created during and after the pandemic period, addressing questions about when our pandemic began and whether the lifting of physical distancing obligations and the opening of borders signifies an end to isolation.
"The exhibition "Path Line: East, South and then into Space" is a portrayal of how Rastko enriches the external world with his unique and talented inner world through creativity, summarizing mythological artifacts from almost all continents. His line starts from the East, crossing the borders of Europe to Asia, incorporating some Oriental wisdom mixed with samurai bravery. From there, it descends South, into the earthy secrets of South America, ending up in space, where it seems to have always belonged," the exhibition description states.
The Miloš Karadaglić Foundation, in collaboration with the company Petite Geneve Petrović, the official partner of Rolex, supported the realization of this exhibition. "I am very happy that Rastko is one of our first scholarship recipients because everything that Rastko represents, in all his uniqueness, creativity, and talent, is at the core of our Foundation's work and everything we stand for - to provide a direct, concrete, yet subtle contribution to our society. This is Rastko's first solo exhibition, and the works that are part of it actually show us a different view of the world. In the circumstances of difficult and complicated reality, Rastko presents the world to us from the perspective of freedom untouched by anything and permeating everywhere. Rastko's universe is all around us and portrays life from a completely different prism and a unique dream world that I personally envy Rastko very much," said Miloš Karadaglić, president of the Foundation. "Working in the Foundation is a lifelong project for all of us in the team, something that remains as a permanent legacy because with every need to collectively change something, we change the world by our example. That is why, as a Foundation, we are here for young people, especially those with their own uniqueness whom the system does not support in the right way," he added.
Scholarship recipients Petra Radulović and Kosta Popović will be performing with Miloš Karadaglić and the string ensemble of the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andreas Ottensamer, on 6 April at the Montenegrin National Theater. This event will be a unique opportunity to bring together world-renowned artists and emerging young talents from the world of classical music.
The Miloš Karadaglić Foundation was started by the famous Montenegrin guitarist with the vision of providing mentoring and financial support to talented artists. The Foundation announces scholarship competitions at least once a year, in partnership with numerous private companies.
