The Royal Philharmonic Society Awards marked their 30th anniversary in 2019, celebrating the outstanding, the pioneering, and the inspirational in classical music. It’s the one date in the musical calendar that brings together the UK’s musical profession, from superstars of the stage to unsung heroes engaging every corner of the nation with great music-making. It’s a chance for music lovers nationally to discover who has made an extraordinary impact in the last year, and who to follow in the years ahead.
As the Coronavirus pandemic ensues, the Royal Philharmonic Society have presented new plans for the 2020 Awards, including a new public-voted Award, inviting nominations for the most inspirational musical achievements during lockdown. The winners of the 2020 RPS Awards will be announced as part of a special digital presentation in November.
A registered charity, the Royal Philharmonic Society has been at the heart of music for over 200 years, championing the vital role that music plays in all our lives.
