PRS for Music Foundation is the UK's leading funder of new music across all genres. Since 2000 PRS for Music Foundation has given more than £16 million to over 4,500 new music initiatives by awarding grants and leading partnership programmes that support music sector development.
2014 sees the first edition of the New Music Biennial developed by PRS for Music Foundation in partnership with Creative Scotland, Arts Council England and the British Council. Beginning and ending in Scotland, where it will join the celebrations of Glasgow’s hosting of the Commonwealth Games, the New Music Biennial presents 20 new commissions which have been inspired by an international collaboration or dimension, each composer pushing the boundaries of their music and exploring unique ways of presenting their ideas.
